BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

MARQUETTE COUNTY LAKES ASSN.
MINUTES OF AUGUST 12TH MEETING

Meeting called to order by President Sabel at 4:32pm

Present: Jim Merrill, Mike Jacobi, Dave Casper, Ron Sabel, Walt Brudnowski and Al Rosenthal. Also present was Ryan Glassmaker
Minutes were read by Al Rosenthal and approved on a motion by Mike Jacobi and second by Dave Casper
Treasurers report was given by Ron Sabel. $1602.97 is in the treasury as of August 12, 2008. Report was approved on a motion by Jim Merrill and a second by Al Rosenthal
July 12th Annual Meeting report- There was concern about the low attendance, but otherwise everything went okay
A report on the installation of the water level stations that will be put at most of the ground water lakes in the county. The equipment has been purchased, and Sharon Lake will be the first lake. The directors will be notified when a schedule has been set.
Eight lakes have joined the association or renewed their membership since July 12th. As of now the association membership is 17 lakes and one commercial member.
As per the by-laws, one half of the directors wil be up for election in 2010 and the other half will be up for election in 2011. Ron Sabel to check with Marty Havlochic to see if revisions are needed in the by-laws.
The Board has started preparations for the 2009 Lake Fair that will be held in conjunction with the 2009 Annual Meeting.
Ron Sabel will attend the Lake Burnita Annual Meeting on Saturday August 30th
Al Rosenthal and Ron Sabel's names will be submitted to WAL for election to the WAL Board in the spring election
There was a discussion on the use of barley straw in the fight against algae in the White River and Mill Pond in Neshkoro.
The next meeting will be on September 18th at 4:30 pm in Westfield
The meeting was adjourned at 5:46 pm o a motion by Jim Merrill and a second by Dave Casper.
