Board of Directors Meeting
August 23, 2011
1:30 p.m. Marquette County Agricultural Center
Board Members Present: Doug Griesbach, Lee Vaughn, Bob Krause, John Cotter, Mike Jacobi,Walt Brudnowski and Al Rosenthal
Also Present: Pat Kilbey
Meeting was called to order by Vice President Mike Jacobi at 1:30 p.m.
Minutes of June 28th were approved on a motion by Bob Krause and a second by Lee Vaughn
Treasurers report was given by Lee Vaughn…Balance as of 8/23/11 was $1845.69. Report attached to minutes. Treasurers report was approved on a motion by Al Rosenthal and a second by John Cotter.
Membership Report was given by Lee Vaughn..21 lakes have paid their membership. Report attached to minutes.
Reports
CAFO Operation—Al Rosenthal reported that he attended the hearing in Adams County. The group who are protesting the farm have sued the DNR and have formed a corporation. Stay tuned…
Wisconsin Wetland Association Meeting—Al Rosenthal reported he attended a meeting in Amherst, and those in attendance were very concerned about lake levels and the quality of the water. The concerns are at a new high because many of the previous restrictions on construction are being lifted. The seminar was sponsored by Wisconsin Lakes, The River Alliance and Wisconsin Wetlands Association. Future meetings will be held.
Invasive Species Signs-DNR
Pat Kilbey reported that 27 signs have been put up by Board members on lakes in Marquette County. A few lakes still needed signs, and they will be taken care of by Board members and Pat.
Boater Safety Training Classes
No one has heard anything from the DNR. Lee Vaughn will check on it.
Aquatic Invasive Species Dinner Placemats ---Doug picked up some while eating out in Oconto County. More information is going to be received before a decision is made to made on getting some for restaurants in Marquette County.
Moon / Birch Lake An ordnance is being developed by Town of Packwaukee to not allow motor boats on the lake.
Neshkoro Mill Pond
Walt reported on the status of the draw down and the benefits to the mill pond. The power plant wants a lost of revenue settlement if they have a complete draw down, worth $24,000. The contract with the power plant is till 2013, so the draw down might be in 2013, when they can work something out with the power plant.

Date: September 29th at 6:00 p.m. at the Marquette County Service Center.

Montello Dam Project—No one attended the Montello Lake Watershed Association Meeting
Williams Lake Annual Meeting is on September 10th at the Marquette County Service Center. At 9:00 a.m. there will be a presentation on Weevils and their use to get rid of Eurasian Water-Milfoil.
On a motion by Lee Vaughn and seconded by Bob Krause the meeting adjourned at 2:42 p.m.
