MARQUETTE COUNTY LAKES ASSOCIATION
ANNUAL MEETING
September 11, 2014
6:30 p.m. Marquette County Service Center


President Ron Sabel called the meeting to order at 6:38 p.m.

Introductions were made after the pledge of allegiance


Board Members Present:  Ron Sabel, Mike Jacobi, Lee Vaughan, Dave Casper, Doug Griesbach, and Al Rosenthal


Also Present:  Chris Hamerla, Pat Kilbey, Tom Onofrey, Sherriff Gaffney and 25 other members representing Marquette County Lakes.


Minutes were present for the annual meeting of 2013, motion to approve was made by Dave Casper and seconded by Lee Vaughan.  Approved


Treasurers report was presented by Lee Vaughan and showed a balance of $1933.20, balance sheet attached.  Motion was made by Doug Griesbach and seconded by Dave Casper.  Approved.  Lee reported that 18 lakes paid dues of $30.00 in 2014, and 3 have paid dues for 2015.


The following reports were given:

Wisconsin Lakes by Al Rosenthal and Bob Clarke

Golden Sands RC&D by Al Rosenthal and Chris Hamerla

Central Sands by Mike Jacobi

Land & Water by Pat Kilbey

                Lake Wells are being monitored on a number of lakes

                Stream Monitoring

                Boat Landings and fees

                Parks and Land are reviewing and updating ordinances on Parks and Boat Landings

 
Ron initiated a discussion on the dues structure and no one found a problem with $30.00 per year dues, and the dues were set for $30.00 for the 2015 calendar year.  Dues notices will be sent out in October, and will include the benefits in joining.

 
Ron mentioned that the Board was considering sponsoring a Kids Conservation Day in 2015, to be held on one of the area lakes.

 
Sheriff Kim Gaffney answered lake questions, and discussed ATV and Golf Cart regulations.


Tom Onofrey informed the group on Wisconsin Healthy Lakes implementation plans, update on NR 115, high capacity wells, and ordinances which are being developed for lake rental units

 
Bob Clark and Jean Mac Cubbin reported on the recent court case on groundwater and that the DNR will need to review future high capacity well and their effect on the environment and other wells.


Chris Hamerla, AIS Coordinator have his yearly update on work done by him and his summer interns.  It was the consensus of the group that Chris has done a very good job, and we need to make sure the position is retained and another grant is received for his services. 

 
Next meeting will be May 14th at 6:30 p.m. 


Next Annual Meeting will be held on September 10th, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. at the Marquette County Service Center.


Meeting adjourned at 9:05 with a motion by Lee Vaughan and seconded by Dave Casper.  Approved
