MARQUETTE COUNTY LAKES ASSOCIATION
BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
August 13, 2015

The meeting was called to order by Mike Jacobi, Vice President at 3:00 p.m.

Board Members Present:  Doug Griesbach, Dave Casper, Lee Vaughan, Mike Jacobi, Walt Brudnowski and Al Rosenthal

Also present:  Krista Kamke

Motion by Lee and a second by Doug to approve the minutes as presented.  Approved

Lee gave the treasurers report, no change since last meeting.  Balance $1192.50.  Dues of $30.00 were received from Lake Mason.

Golden Sands RC&D Council report by Al---Because of less grants and the ability to use part of the grant money for administration, the Council has recommended a large increase in County dues.  Dues would be $1900.00 and would cover administration expenses for the RC&D. Golden Sands has added the counties of Green Lake, Taylor and Outagamine.

Central Sands Water Action Coalition report by Mike—the coalition has been active, but Mike has not been able to attend the meetings or correspond via e-mail.  The Coalition is working on Ground Water legislation.  Mike is looking for a replacement for him on the committee, because Mike is not actively involved with e-mails.

Marquette County LWCD report was given by Krista in Pat’s absence.  Mike will represent us at future LWCD meetings.  The tree sale was a success and it was reported that Morgan will work full time, because of her back ground in soils and agronomy, and will be active in working on a grant received by the County.

Wisconsin Lakes report was given by Al, and he said more information will follow on the future of Wisconsin Lakes because of the State budget line veto from Governor Walker, which eliminated Wisconsin Lakes working with DNR for $200,000 per year.  Wisconsin Lakes will continue to be an advocate for lakes, but the dues of the lakes will go up and will be based on $1.00 per member with a minimum and maximum amount to be paid.

AIS Coordinator report by Krista.  They continue to work on getting rid of Purple Loosestrife.  She has talked to a number of library groups, and has exhibits in some libraries of Purple Loosestrife.  35 attended from Marquette County the Clean Boat/Clean Water training sessions.  She is continuing to monitor stream flowage. She has been actively involved in the Buffalo Lake P&R reviewing their Comprehensive Plan.   Tuttle, Kilbey, Lawrence, Pleasant and Twin Lakes have been or will be reviewed for AIS growth.

Annual Meeting is set for Thursday, September 10th at 6:30 p.m.    Tom Onofrey, Krista Kamke will attend, and Kim Gaffney and Ben Nadolski will be invited also.  Hopefully there will be plenty time for a question and answer session.

Next Meeting of the Board of Directors will be held on October 8th at 1:30 p.m. at the Westfield Office

Meeting adjourned on a motion by Dave Casper and a second by Lee Vaughan.  Approved at 4:47 p.m.

Al Rosenthal, Secretary
