Minutes of Meeting August 9, 2012

Marquette County Lakes Association
Board of Directors Meeting
August 9, 2012
Marquette County Agricultural Center

Board Members Present:  Dave Casper, Lee Vaughan, Mike Jacobi and Al Rosenthal
Also Present:  Pat Kilbey

Meeting was called to order by Vice President Mike Jacobi at 1:35 p.m.

Minutes of July 12, 2012 meeting were approved on a motion by Lee Vaughan and a second by Dave Casper.  Approved

The Treasurer’s report was given by Lee Vaughan.  Balance as August 7th is $1882.90 after paying mileage for Mark Judas , instructor for boat safety-$100.00, Al Rosenthal for boat safety class costs-$77.42, and Dept. of Financial Institution (Annual report)-$10.00.
Motion was made by Dave Casper and seconded by Al Rosenthal to approve the treasurer’s report.
Approved.

Membership Report—No Change

Fall Joint Lakes Meeting

Presenters   Neil Diboll from Prairie Nursery will talk about the best types of grass and flowers for the shoreline.
Bob Krause will check with Reesa Evans from Adams County who is a lake specialist.

Al will bring name tags

Al will e-mail a notice of the meeting to all lakes, and Pat will put an article in the local newspaper.

Central Sands Water Action Coalition
Al reported that he contacted Scott Froehlke via e-mail to find out who he should send a letter of support to, and Scott said he would be sending a form for signatures, and that they would like a representative from MCLA attend their meetings.  Mike Jacobi said he would be interested in attending these meetings.

Locks for water elevation gauges
Al gave a price of $12.50 per lock for stainless steel locks.  He will have his son order 12 locks and all the locks will be keyed the same, and each site will have two keys, and Pat’s office will have two keys.  Pat gave Al a cap to make sure the locks fit.

A motion by Dave Casper and a second by Lee Vaughan at 2:21 p.m. to adjourn.  Motion Carried
