Board of Directors Meeting
February 28, 2013
1:30 p.m. Marquette County Agricultural Center
Board Members Present: Doug Griesbach, Mike Jacobi, John Cotter, Walt Brudnowski, Ron Sabel and
Al Rosenthal.
Also Present: Pat Kilbey
Minutes of the January 10, 2013 were read and approved by a motion by John Cotter and seconded by
Doug Griesbach. Approved
Treasurers report was give by Ron Sabel in absence of Lee Vaughan. Balance was $2281.35 and we have 16 lakes that have paid their dues for 2013. The report was approved by a motion by Mike Jacobi and seconded by Ron Sabel. Approved
John Cotter gave a report on Golden Sands RC&D Council. John attend a committee meeting on forestry units. Byron Hill of Marquette County who lives on Spring Grove Road, has a forestry demonstration. Pat Kilbey reported on the status of the Marquette County/ Green Lake County AIS Coordinator grant written by Golden Sands RC&D Council. It has been submitted and it is for 3 years. Hopefully we will have someone by May. Pat stressed that part of the grant will be that we have enough volunteers to help with projects like “Clean Boats-Clean Waters” program.
Pat also reported on $250,000 grant entitled “Clean Water & Stream Monitoring”. I will be to monitor the flow of steams and lakes.
Mike Jacobi reported that the Central Sands Water Action Coalition had not had a meeting since our January meeting.
PROJECT FOR 2013
1. Finish water monitoring wells at designated lakes.
2. If we get the grant…Work with the AIS person and the “Clean Boats-Clean Waters” program.
3. Work with the Clean Water & Stream Water Monitoring program
4. Boat Safety Program—Possible class in April at either Town of Packwaukee town hall or Harrisville Sportsmen’s Club building. Lori Killian and Al Rosenthal will work on this project.
Al Rosenthal gave a Wisconsin Lakes report. The partnership convention will be held in Green Bay April 9-11th. The proposed State AIS program is not in the Governor’s proposed budget. A motion by John Cotter and seconded by Ron Sabel that Marquette County Lakes Association write a letter of support that money be placed in the budget to fight aquatic invasive species. Approved.

Bob Krause was not able to be at the meeting, so there was no report on the affect of the Richfield CAFO on Lake Mason.
