Board of Directors Meeting
April 4, 2013
1:30 p.m. Marquette County Agricultural Center
Board Members Present: Ron Sabel, Lee Vaughan, John Cotter, Doug Griesbach, Mike Jacobi,
Walt Brudnowski, and Al Rosenthal
Also Present: Pat Kilbey, Derek Kavanaugh, Amy Thorstenson, and Chris Hamerla
The meeting was called to order by Ron Sabel at 1:00 p.m.
Pat Kilbey introduced Amy Thorstenson, executive director of the Golden Sands RC&D Council, Derek Kavanaugh, from Green Lake County and Chris Hamerla, the new AIS Coordinator for Marquette and Green Lake County.
Amy gave an overview of the program and stated that Chris has experience as an AIS Coordinator.
Chris will be present at the May 9th Spring meeting.
Minutes of the February 28, 2013 were read and approved by a motion by Doug Griesbach and seconded by John Cotter. Approved
The treasurers report was presented by Lee Vaughan, which showed expenses of $80.00 and income of $60.00 since the February 28th meeting. Check book balance is $2261.35. Membership shows 18 lakes have paid there 2013 dues.
The report was approved by a motion by Walt Brudnowski and seconded by Mike Jacobi. Approved
John Cotter reported on the Golden Sands RC&D meeting and the forestry sub committee meeting. A demo project is to held in Marquette County near Harrisville on County Hwy J. To be held on May 4th.
Mike Jacobi reported on the Central Sands Water Action Coalition. They met on March 19th. Dan Heisel a former DNR Water Team Leader talked about the ground water management district .
A fair is to be held on May 18th near Coloma in support of the issues dealing with high capacity wells and CAFO’s
Al Rosenthal reported on Wisconsin Lakes and the upcoming convention, AIS legislative proposal, shoreland zoning and membership.
May 9th 2013 Spring Joint Lakes Meeting
The program will be Chris Hamerla, AIS Coordinator and Neil Diboll, President of Prairie Nursery.
Boat Safety class taught by Lori Killian and Al Rosenthal will be held at Packwaukee Town Hall on April 30th/May 1st/May 7th/ May 8th. Time will be 6:00 to 8:30 p.m.
Meeting adjourned at 3:15 p.m. with a motion by Ron Sabel and seconded by Mike Jacobi
