Board of Directors Meeting
April 10, 2014
Board Members Present:
John Cotter, Dave Casper, Ron Sabel, Doug Griesbach, Lee Vaughan, Mike
Jacobi, and Al Rosenthal

Meeting was called to order at 1:33 p.m. by President Ron
Sabel
The minutes of the January 30, 2014 meeting were approved
on a motion by Mike Jacobi and a second by John Cotter. Approved
The treasurer’s report was presented by Lee. It showed a balance of $1914.12 on March 24,
2014. He received $90.00 in dues, which
is not part of the balance. Al reported
that dues have not been received from Lake Mason, Lake Puckaway, Sandy Lake and
Pleasant Lake. Contacts will be made by Al.
The report was approved on a motion by Dave Casper and a second by Ron
Sabel.
Motion was made by Ron and seconded by Al to recognize
Judi Nigbor for her service as the area Game Warden. Approved.
Pat will have a plaque made.
Plaques will be presented to Heidi and Ryan for their service and help
to the Marquette County Lakes Association.
Pat Kilbey reported that the Tree Sale will be April 26th. He also reported that Heidi will be leaving
Marquette County to accept a similar,
but full time position for Green Lake County.
Pat also reported and encouraged that data be collected
for the lake water levels and that they would be starting stream monitoring
shortly. Data collected last year is
presently being used by DNR as they review data for wells to be dug by CAFO’s.
John Cotter has asked to be replaced on the Golden Sands
RC&D Council. Doug will consider the
position. If he wants to share the
position, Al said he would share it with him.
This was agreeable with the Board.
Pat said that we could add a member to the Marquette
County Land & Conservation Committee, he will need to receive approval from the Committee. Lee moved to have Mike Jacobi as a member of
this committee. Dave seconded the
motion, and motion was approved.
Chris reported that he again will have 3 interns working this
summer in Green Lake and Marquette County.
He also reported that June is AIS month.
Westfield School students will be helping to raise loosestrife beetles,
and he has delivered DVD’s on AIS to all County libraries. Chris has some Ice Packs/Jelly packs for fish
transportation. Does not know if he will
have them by the May 8th meeting.
Mike reported on
the Central Sands Water Action Coalition, and their political action
dealing with high capacity wells.
Agenda for May 8th Meeting, which will be held
at 6:30 p.m. in Montello
The theme of the
meeting will be “water safety”
Heather Gottschalk a DNR Warden who specialize in water
safety has been invited.
Reports will be given by Pat and Chris. Mary Jo Vance and Francie Rowe will be
invited to give up dates on CAFO’s and court cases. Bill Lewis will be invited to give an update
on the Buffalo Lake project and the meeting will conclude with a round table
discussion and any specific projects MCLA should work on in 2014.
Next meeting was not set at this time.
The meeting adjourned on a motion by Doug and seconded by
Dave at 2:48 p.m.
