A discussion followed on the value of County Lakes Association and being able to get things done on the lakes to help to protect them.

Pat Kilbey reported on Stream monitoring project and also Lake/groundwater monitoring project.  This kind of data is becoming more valuable in order to financially support projects by DNR.

Project….Need to get data for salary and benefits for a lake specialist/AIS coordinator for Marquette County.  Chris’s position is funded for one more year after this year, and grants are hard to come by, and we should begin thinking and planning on how to fund the position permanently.
